Help Us Build a House

We built the walls to a house in the church parking lot last year. On July 10th of this year, we stood them on a foundation at 1116 Delaware Avenue. On July 17th, we put the trusses and roof decking on top. On July 24th, we shingled the roof and installed the interior walls. On July 31st, we put the siding on the exterior. The house for Shanique and her daughter, Jamara, is almost ready!

We need volunteer painters to paint the interior on August 28th and volunteer carpenters to help hang cabinets and trim on September 11th. If you can help us put these finishing touches on the house, please sign up below.

Here’s the build schedule with the number of folks needed…

• Sat, August 28, 7:30 am – 12 pm (4.5 hours) // Interior Painting (10 people)
• Sat, September 11, 7:30 am – 2 pm (6.5 hours) // Trim & Cabinets (10 people)

You must be 16-years-old or older to volunteer and at least 18-years-old to get on a ladder or use power tools.
