Short Term Mission to Mexico

March 26 thru April 3, 2010

What a great trip!!!

On Friday, March 26, a group of 37 people departed  West Towne and headed to San Carlos, Coahuila, Mexico in the church bus and van.  One of our main objectives was to begin building a house in San Carlos for Jose & Anna Vasquez-Santibanez, a great family with 8 children (2 deaf) living in a shack made of pallets.  With great blessings from God, we were successful in pouring the foundation for a new home, putting in pipes for plumbing, and putting in a septic tank.  We were also able to build a temporary home for the Vasquez-Santibanez's to live in while their permanent block home is finished.  Through some generous donations we were also able to build an oversized picnic table for the family to eat at together and purchase an oven for the family.

While we were there we also helped the church in Zaragoza ministered to by Carlos & Josephina with Holy Week Children’s Ministries (similar to VBS).  In about six hours we were able to assemble 150 concrete blocks that will finish the structure of the church we began building during the summer of 2009.

Our goal to love and witness to Mexican brothers and sisters in Christ changed the lives of members of WTCC.

Thanks to all of those who prayed for the group!!!
